For his latest series, ‘An Economy of Grace’, Nigerian-American artist Kehinde Wiley features women as his subjects - a first in the history of his works.

Currently on show at the Sean Kelly Gallery in New York, Wiley teamed up with another current artistic force and the man behind the recent surge in success for French label Givenchy, Riccardo Tisci, who designed the costumes for the subjects in all of Wiley’s pieces.

“Trace Heavens” is a series of light installations by James Nizam. To create these images James painstakingly made incisions into the structure of a house to capture and manipulate sunlight into light sculptures.

Hand painted illustrations of 56 ethnic groups from China.

 The artist Chen Shu Fen (陈淑芬) is best known for her paintings of beautiful women and handsome men. She has worked on a project in which she painted 56 Chinese ethnic groups from China. Each staying true to there original ethnic clothing.

Ikenaga Yasunari is a 1965-born Japanese artist. His paintings depict beautiful women, whose expressions and postures suggest a dreamy atmosphere.
Ikenaga’s paintings also showcase exquisite textile pattern designs. His subjects are always women of modern times, but at the same time, the Nihonga painting style reflects ancient Japanese traditions, which gives his works a timeless feel. He creates his art by dropping Japanese paints into the canvas that he calls “linen cloth”, with a Menso brush.
